BRYHER COMMUNITY CENTRE

Bryher Community Centre is a vibrant community hub where everyone can come together to have fun and relax.

With pool table, table tennis, board games, soft play and books galore – there’s something for all ages!

We kindly suggest a £2 donation per person when you use our facilities to help us cover costs and keep the doors open.

Come along today from 9am – 6pm (kids under 12 to be supervised by an adult, please).

 

THINGS TO DO

  • Books, DVD & Toy Libraries: Visitors are welcome to borrow books for the duration of their stay – donations are appreciated.  Books can also be purchased.

  • Doctors Surgery – the doctor visits Bryher every other Thursday – please call St Mary’s Health Centre for an appointment (01720 422628).

THE PLAYGROUND

Older children can enjoy our playground with climbing frame, slide and large web swing. Please take care while in the playground; facilities are used at your own risk.  Parental supervision is recommended.

 

BRYHER COMMUNITY CHARITY SHOP

Treat yourself to a guilt-free shopping spree, and help out the local community while you’re at it! Our island charity shop is stocked with plenty of summery items – perfect for those surprise heatwaves. And if your kids have had an unexpected soak in the sea? Don’t worry, we’ve got lots of dry clothes too – plus all proceeds go towards our Community Centre Fund.

Just Giving for Bryher Community Centre

Bryher Community Centre was built in 2007/8 after local fundraising and with help from National Lottery Funding. The Community Centre was formally opened by the then Prince Charles when he visited Bryher in 2012. 

The Bryher Community Centre Association Committee is responsible for the management of the Community Centre and helps represent the island in community projects. Your current committee members are Amanda Pender (Co- Chair), Olivia Callan (Co-Chair), Joanne Matthews (Treasurer), Kerry Hulands (Secretary), Amy Langdon (Communications Secretary), Louise Searle (Bookings), Fran McNeill, Fee Nicolle, Phil Spence and Polly Edwards.

BOOKING THE COMMUNITY CENTRE FOR AN EVENT

Bryher Community Centre can be hired for private use; children’s parties, wedding receptions, meetings/presentations, work space etc.

  • Hourly rate: £12.50
  • Half Day: £50.00
  • Full Day: £100.00
  • Full Day & Evening: £150.00
 
Payment is taken on booking for the hire of the Community Centre.

KITCHEN HIRE ONLY

  • £20.00 per day
  • £120.00 per week
  • £450.00 per month
 
Payment is taken on booking for the hire of the kitchen.

HIRE OF ASSETS

Portaloo: £50 per day (POA for extended use)

Tables & Chairs: £5 per table per day, £1 per chair per day

Large Gazebo: £25.00

Small Gazebo: £15.00

Dart Football: £50.00 

PA system: £150.00  – Please contact a member of the Committee for further details. 

All expenses regarding delivery are the responsibility of the hirer.

DISCOUNTS

Bryher residents and all charities receive a 50% discount on the hire of the Community Centre.

Bryher businesses receive a 10% discount on all hire rates for business use.

Use of the building for Emergency Shelter; no fixed charge in recognition of the emergency status that could befall any of us, however a donation to cover costs would be required.

Use of the building by the school; Free. Must be booked following the usual processes and left in a clean and tidy condition.
