Enjoy life at a different pace
Bryher is uncrowded and unspoilt and life here moves at a different pace. There are few roads and few cars yet the quays are alive with colourful launches ferrying locals to and fro plus taking visitors island hopping and on excursions to see Scilly’s wonderful wildlife.
There is space and freedom here and the choice to do a lot – or do next to nothing – in a spectacular setting offering unforgettable experiences in a simpler, kinder and more peaceful corner of the world.
The coastline is varied from the dramatic cliff tops of Shipman’s Head (guaranteed dramatic wave watching during high seas) to the white sparkly sands of Rushy Bay where hours can be spent sunbathing, beach combing or swimming for the brave!

Low Tide Events
A unique experience not to be missed if your trip to Scilly falls at the right time when dramatic Spring tides mean that the water between Tresco & Bryher disappears!
For a few hours, a mini festival organised by the Tresco & Hell Bay teams, pops up on the sand `bar between the two islands, usually 20 feet below water!
Enjoy a feast of food and drink, impromptu games or live music. The Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust are usually on hand for a chat to help you discover more about the seabed around you.
Being mid-channel, The hardest decision of the day is choosing which island to return to after the event. Tresco Boat Services will provide a boat between Tresco and Bryher later in the day to get you back to where you want to be.
For 2022 Low Tide Events are planned for:
Monday April 18th & Sunday September 11th
